Maci Gibson

Maci Gibson 5th grader brought in 70lbs of Pop-Tabs 12-13-14 Maci Gibson, her Grandmother and Tiny Koerwitz (owner/operator Manchester GA McDonald's)

The special love shared by a sweet young lady and her Grandparents has been extended to reach the patients and their families served by the Ronald McDonald House of West GA!

Maci Gibson is an eleven year old honor student at Mountain View Elementary in Manchester, GA. When she is not busy with school, her amazing artwork, performing in community theater, cooking, hunting, fishing, and caring for her family's many animals; Maci takes the time to be thoughtful of others.

When she was five years old, she and her grandparents, Martin and Delores Gibson of the Cove Community in Woodbury, GA decided to participate in a service project to save tabs from aluminum cans. They planned to donate the tabs to an organization which could use the funds from the sale of the aluminum to support their mission. Maci and her grandparents selected the Ronald McDonald House which provides housing and care for the families of ill children while they are hospitalized. Maci and her grandparents, assisted by her parents Lee and Misty Gibson (a 2nd grade teacher at Mountain View Elementary), big brother Zach, and many familyu friends worked diligently for six years, collecting tabs from South Georgia to South Carolina.

On Saturday, December 13th, Maci, her Grandmother and Tiny Koerwitz owner of McDonald's in Manchester, GA visited the Ronald McDonald House to donate over 70 pounds of pop tabs, representing over one hundred thousand tabs. Thanks to Maci, her grandparents, and all other supporters there will continue to be "Room at the Inn" for many patient families. What better Christmas present could be given or received? Maci's other Grandparents are Larry and Jean Chapman of Manchester, GA.

Maci was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Executive Director, Susan Yaksh!
